Playing Roulette Games is Simple and Interesting

Roulette is considered to be the Queen of casinos both in Monte Carlo and Las Vegas. However, the popularity of playing roulette is decreasing in the USA, as more interesting games appear. One more reason is the huge house edge of the American roulette that is not advantageous for gamblers. In any case, roulette is still a symbol of luxurious casino life and big money that circles in the gambling world.

The American and European Roulettes

When you start playing roulette, you can find the European roulette and the American roulette. The difference between these two types can be crucial for gamblers. The European roulette has 37 pockets: 36 numbers and one "zero" pocket. The American roulette consists of 36 numbers and one "zero" pocket and one "double-zero" pocket. When the ball lands on 0, it means that all bets are lost. So, it is obvious that the house edge depends on the number of "zero" slots on the roulette. In the American roulette it is 5.26%, while in European one it is 2.7%.

Roulette Tools and Personnel

Roulette is gambled at a table adjoined to the roulette wheel. The layout is designed to make bets on it by putting your chips on an appropriate number or line. There are the pictures of roulette numbers arranged in 12 rows and 3 columns. There are boxes 0 and 00 above the numbers of pockets 1, 2 and 3. This part of the layout contains "Inside" bets. There are numbers outside the central part of the table, which are called "Outside" bets.

The wheel consists of 37 in European and 38 in American roulette numbered slots, each of them is colored whether in red or black according the table graph. Around the table you can find seats, but they are only players. If there is even 1 player, you are not allowed to sit and watch the game.

From the personnel to watch the flow of the game there is a dealer or a croupier. In some casinos there are 2 dealers, who assist the roulette. The dealer accepts the bets, operates the wheel, pays out winning and sweeps away losing.

When the bets are made, the croupier spins the roulette wheel in one direction and the ball in opposite one around a track, being above pockets. When the dealer announces "No more bets", the players have no right to make their bets or move the chips. After the ball stops moving, having fallen in one of the slots, the croupier places the marker, which is called Dolly, on a winning number on the table. Then he makes payouts and sweeps away losing bets.

Chips for Roulette

Mostly, roulette chips differ from the regular casino chips. For this reason gamblers have to buy them from the dealer. Each player has chips of different colors in order not to confuse them in the flow of the game. Chips differ from each other by their denomination that is designated on every chip.
